Entertainment journalist Army Archerd has died at the age of 87 from mesothelioma. Archered was the first journalist inducted into the Hollywood's Walk of Fame.  He worked for Daily Variety, an entertainment trade newspaper.  According to the Associated Press his mesothelioma was likely caused by exposure to asbestos during the time he spent in shipyards while serving in the Navy during World War II.
